When I sit on the wind, I remember the bright moon.

When I recited the poem in the moonlight, I miss clear wind

After bamboo cutting and round fan making

The bright moon and the clear wind are in my hands.

Title : Eternity Line (: Attached to a Round Fan)

Author: Taejong, the Third King of Joseon Kingdom (1400~1418)

Commentary : It is poetry about things, that is, the poetry of things. In general, it praises the a round fan, but it implies his own determinating aspiration of good governance for people. The moon implies the grace of the king over all the people, and the wind the good governance or the correct edification to gently govern the grassy people. The first and second phrases show the charm of two confrontations. The first is to place 'time' and 'place' in the same position, the second is 'wind-moon' of the first ward, and 'moon-wind' in the second ward. It is an excellent work in terms of poetic implication and technique.
