The will of man is like a horse, and the heart is like a monkey

If you let it go, you have to catch and find it.

Oh, the Heaven are looking down on me like watching a mirror in the sky

Even when I am alone, I must refrain from evil mind with pure spirit.

Title : Worry (: Refrain from being alone)

Author : The King Jeongjo, the 22nd King of Jeseon Kingdom (1776~1800)

Commentary : The King Jeongjo made a lot of poems and his level of poetry was excellent. ‘Euimasimwon' (意馬心猿) is derived from the words of Weibaekyang and Jojuseonsa of China. ‘Shingulsu' (愼厥修) is derived from 'Shingulshinsu' of 《Seokyung [書經]》 that means humbly cleaning body. This word also appears in the King Sejong's <Mongjoongjak [夢中作]>. Oklu (屋漏) refers to the darkest place in a room, and it is described in 《Sikyung [詩經]》.
